Why Your “Cookie Cutter” Marketing Plan Doesn’t Work (What to Do Instead)

It is no secret that I’m a huge fan of speaking. I use it every day as a way to get clients and sell my courses, programs and services.

So when I see people struggling to get clients and following the advice they’re taught in big “Guru” type coaching programs I get really upset.

Quite frankly it really annoys me. Over and over again business owners come to me asking me to recreate their marketing plan – a plan that will actually work and not something that just keeps them spinning their wheels.

The reality is that there are a lot of marketing strategies you can use to grow your business. Some of which you should be using all at the same time.

Then there are others that depending on your business will never work for you. So when I see coaches, consultants and solo business owners wasting time on the wrong social media platform, getting nowhere on Twitter when their market is on Facebook and not using any form of speaking as a way to get business I get really upset.

Let’s face it, our time is precious and if your goal is much like mine, getting clients and growing your business is important to you.

So I have to ask this very important question, How much time are you wasting on marketing activities that are getting you absolutely nowhere?”

I’m going to guess that if you’re not where you need to be in business that at least 75% of your time right now is being spent on stuff that isn’t making an ounce of difference to your growth and that’s why it’s time to change things up…pronto!

From my experience, the fastest and most effective marketing strategy is speaking. Not the kind of speaking in front of a crowd of 1,000 but to small groups, in your home, hosting a teleseminar, webinar or even an interview.

If you want to raise your chances of success in business than you must add speaking as a marketing strategy to your business!

Why don’t most business owners do it? There’s a host of reasons from being afraid, not being prepared, not knowing what to say and not knowing what to sell.
