Want to generate more leads and sales? Here’s how to do it with Pinterest
October 2, 2014
When developing your marketing strategy it’s easy to get overwhelmed with trying to take on too much at one time.
That’s why to maximize your business growth you must be strategic about which marketing activities will give you the biggest bang for your buck.
For years I’ve used Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn for my business but now as I get ready to expand my reach online I’m tapping into Pinterest.
According to MarketingLand.com, they noted a statistic from ShareThis.com that Pinterest is the channel of choice for moms because they share twice as much on Pinterest as anyone else. Plus, practically the entire channel is made up of women.
So if you’re marketing to women (and moms in particular), then you must start using Pinterest.
In this week’s video I share exactly how to optimize your Pinterest boards for more leads and sales.
You’ll learn the strategy behind setting up your boards and why it’s key to be strategic.

Here are the simple steps to optimize your Pinterest boards:
- Decide on your Strategy – first you need to decide how you want to use Pinterest and if it’s the right choice for you. Will you commit to it? Is your target market there? What do you want to do with it? In my case I’ve decided to create multiple boards for my blog, events, webinars and teleseminars, my podcast and products and services. As we go I’ll be having my team add my content on a weekly basis so that I always have full boards and fresh content.
- Decide how you want to use it for Marketing – I’ve purposely chosen to upload all of my future blogs, events and podcast shows. This way when someone finds me on Pinterest they can follow my boards and check out new pins. It’s great to drive more traffic in case they don’t see it in my other social media channels or newsletter
- Decide how you want to use it to Sell – I like how easy it is to create multiple boards. Think about creating boards for everything you’re selling. Then decide how to strategically drive traffic it to it. It’s just one additional way for people to find out about you and your great stuff.
