You know the advice, “You really need to get out from behind your computer to grow your business”? Well guess what? I didn’t exactly follow that advice.
You see, before I dove head first into my business, I was the Director of Employee Benefits for a wealth management firm and the mom of two busy teens. Getting out to network and grow my business was virtually impossible. I barely had time for anything else and I needed to find a way that would help me reach more people.
That’s when I decided teleseminars would be the perfect solution. Not only could I reach more people, I could do it without even having to leave my home.
So I dove in, created my own registration pages, figured out the software and hosted them at least once a month in the evenings at 8pm after working a full day in my job, having picked up the kids from school (45 minutes away) and having raced home to put dinner on the table for our family. Insane, right? Yes…probably, but I was determined to grow my business.
In that year I reached more people than I’d ever expected. My list grew by about 100 people every month (and no, I wasn’t using Facebook Ads at the time) and I was able to get more clients, all while doing it under my own roof.
But these days when I’m hosting online events, I rarely choose to host teleseminars, instead I use webinars as a way to attract clients, sell my Client Converting Talks program and invite guests to come to my events.
