Find Your Dream and Never Ever Give Up On It

It would seem that when you look at this photo my life was pretty great.

It was our summer vacation in Wellfleet, MA and I was on my favorite beach hugging my daughter. I was the thinnest I’d ever been in my adult life but I was miserable on the inside.

Months before while working at my job, my boss died suddenly of a massive heart. Earlier that year I’d given up eating – stress and multiple bouts of bronchitis got in the way of me barely keeping anything down. With the constant rounds of antibiotics little did I know I destroyed my digestive system.

My boss’s death, my stress level and my lack of self-care were too much. I could no longer eat, I wasn’t sleeping and I was experiencing more stress working in a career I never wanted.

In March 2005 I quit my job and went to work for a competitor only to come home from work one day to check the mail and find that I was being sued for violating a non-compete from my former employer.  Life couldn’t get any worse.

Fast forward to the Summer of 2005 where I was on the beach with my daughter and trying to enjoy our family vacation. My legal battle was at it’s peak and I had lost all confidence in myself. I remember thinking “This isn’t what I want for myself, I never liked this career and now I’m being sued for something I never did.”

It was on that beach that day that I looked at my family and vowed to myself that I would start living a life with love, joy and meaning.

It is now 8 years later and I’ve done just that. I’m no longer anorexic, I have an amazingly supportive husband, two tremendous children and I have a business with more meaning than I could ever have imagined.

My business has given me a purpose and has allowed me to teach, mentor and share my natural gifts. I now get up every day looking forward to helping women change their lives, gain confidence, express their natural talents, develop their business and grow into profitable business owners. It is an absolute blessing.

It is because of you that I have found total happiness and satisfaction in my work life and I’m eternally grateful.  

I will not pretend to tell you that each and every step of my journey has been easy. There were plenty of times I wanted to throw in the towel and give up on this dream – I’m sure you feel like that sometimes to. But please don’t. If you believe you’re meant for more than a 9-5 job. More than working in corporate hell. More than working more hours than you should for a small salary than please don’t give up. Always know I believe in YOU and I’m so grateful to have you in my life!
